The Korea International Tourism Expo (KITS), a tourism and travel expo held with the goal of GloCal (Global+Local) tourism, will be held from July 19th to 22nd at Hall 8 of KINTEX, Ilsan, under the theme of 'Collaboration between domestic and foreign cities and travel creators (YouTube, influencers, celebrities).'

Now in its 9th year, KITS is a specialized tourism expo designed to promote the development of the tourism industry through the expansion of the tourism market based on mutual cooperation between domestic and international tourism, and to contribute to the revitalization of regional tourism industries through the internationalization of tourism in domestic cities.
KITS is jointly hosted by the KITS Organizing Committee and the Korea Local Newspaper Association, and organized by the Korea Exhibition Industry Institute.
Approximately 250 organizations and companies, including over 130 local governments in Korea and foreign cities, as well as travel and tourism-related businesses, organizations, and associations, are expected to participate in the expo with about 500 booths.
KITS will showcase a variety of attractions and entertainment through diverse themes and performances, including overseas promotion to attract inbound tourists, promotion of Korea's excellent tourism resources, promotion of international tourism cities and countries, creation of a tourism network between domestic and international tourism content, providing a platform for diverse travel information and travel experiences, a conference on smart tourism, K-POP idol performances, and character performances.
In particular, this year, a special event has been prepared to allow for various collaborations between travel and tourism-related creators and participating domestic and foreign cities, businesses, organizations, and associations, and the 'KITS Creator Awards' event will be held for the first time in Korea.

KITS Organizing Committee Chairman Chang-Soo Jeong stated, “During this year's expo, we plan to create various opportunities for exchange with overseas outbound travel agencies, related associations, and organizations to attract inbound tourists,” adding, “We are preparing for KITS to become an expo that presents various solutions for Korea to take the lead in the future tourism market by further expanding smart tourism, which is emerging as a core element of the future tourism market.”
He further added, “We will showcase more comprehensive programs to make KITS a tourism and travel specialized business in-out-intra bound tourism industry expo.”
As the travel and tourism expo with the largest number of participating domestic cities in Korea, KITS aims to provide various and practical information necessary for the internationalization of tourism in domestic cities. Furthermore, it operates various programs to serve as a platform for mutual cooperation and networking among participating overseas buyers, countries, and cities.
Korea Exhibition Industry, the organizer of KITS, announced that it is expanding its international network through MOUs with international tourism expos, including the Beijing International Tourism Expo, Shanghai World Travel Expo, Guangzhou International Tourism Industry Expo, Shenzhen International Tourism Expo, Hainan International Tourism Expo in China, and the Taipei International Tourism Expo in Taiwan, and the Hanoi International Tourism Expo in Vietnam, to promote mutual activation and exchange cooperation among tourism expos.
Furthermore, they added that through this year's KITS, which will feature travel and tourism creators, they are preparing to further expand the Korean tourism industry and help participating cities develop through GloCal (Global+Local) tourism.
