Google AdSense : Google AdSense

Google AdSense is a Google service that connects ads to content creators' sites to generate revenue for the creators. In short, ads are posted around content, and when those ads are clicked, revenue is generated for both the creator and Google AdSense.

If Google receives 100 per click from an advertiser (this will vary depending on the ad), Google takes 32%, and the creator receives 68%. Of course, there are also cases where the distribution ratio is not publicly disclosed.

How much do Korean bloggers earn?

Generally, in Korea, it is said that you need 10,000 to 20,000 monthly visitors to a Naver blog to earn roughly 60,000 KRW.

Similarly, with 10,000 to 20,000 monthly visitors, the general consensus is that you can earn 200,000 KRW on Tistory. (Of course, there is variation). Recently, there has been some discussion that Tistory's direct implementation of Google AdSense is causing a decline in revenue.

So, how much does durumis earn?

Considering the current global exposure and influx of traffic, it is estimated that durumis earns at least 3 to 5 times more than Tistory, at least in Korean.

Then, what about writing posts in languages other than Korean? There are differences between countries, and there's something we need to know first.

  • US GDP is 23.32 trillion USD
  • South Korea's GDP is 1.81 trillion USD
  • Vietnam's GDP is 366.1 billion USD

There are differences in income and consumption between countries. Therefore, the basic unit price for advertising differs by country. Since advertisers pay different rates for ads, the revenue content creators earn through AdSense also differs.

A bunch of bananas (around 15) costs 13,200 KRW in South Korea, but in Australia, a bunch costs 7,973 KRW. Therefore, the advertising spending on banana ads differs by country, and the cost per click paid to the content creator from those ads will also inevitably differ.

In short, there are different ad tiers.

durumis is distributed in 38 languages, so the audience viewing the ads will be from all over the world. In other words, since it is not limited to their native language, and published in various languages, the ad revenue is leveled out. It is expected that similar amounts will be earned regardless of whether it is Korean, Vietnamese, English, Spanish, or Japanese.

So, it is estimated that with 10,000 to 20,000 monthly visitors, you can earn 600,000 to 1,000,000 KRW (450 to 750 USD) per month.

What if people from all over the world visit the blog?!

For people from all over the world to visit, the content of the blog must be excellent. It needs to provide high-quality information that many people are curious about, so that people will visit and read the posts. Of course, in the early stages, focusing on quantity rather than quality is a better strategy, but it's difficult to definitively state earnings, however, it is believed that millions of KRW in monthly revenue is possible.
